Primary school students can now access interactive learning resources to support their remote learning.
A partnership between the Victorian government and the ABC means students can now complete online activities for English, Maths, Science and Geography that are connected to programs screening on ABC ME.
The first set of 15 learning activities are screening 20-24 April and have been added to the state government’s new Learning from Home website.
Students can watch programs on TV via ABC ME or online via ABC iview, and then complete learning activities linked to the programs.
Almost all Victorian students are learning from home during Term 2 as part of social distancing measures to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
“Schools, staff and teachers, and our students and families across Victoria have responded well to learning from home, despite the challenges it presents,” Education Minsiter James Merlino said.
“Partnering with ABC to provide learning materials via TV will give students a new way to learn and help keep them engaged as they learn from home.
“This is a big change and it’s not always easy, but we’ll continue to support our students, teachers and schools every step of the way.”
